In the new energy sector, the Company ventured into the business starting from 2022, focusing on the R&D and production of lithium battery electrolyte additives, with core products including VC (Vinylene Carbonate) and FEC (Fluoroethylene Carbonate). As an API enterprise, Full-chem Pharmaceutical achieved remarkable growth by making late moves. It obtained environmental impact assessment approval for VC and FEC in March 2022 and launched production in June the same year. By 2023, its VC shipment volume ranked among the top three in the industry, with production costs also maintaining a leading position.
In the synthetic biology sector, the Company has successfully developed Weiran Protein. As a natural, healthy and clean microbial protein, it features high protein content, high dietary fiber, low fat, zero cholesterol, and rich in 18 essential amino acids required by the human body. The whole production process is well controlled, free of antibiotic, pesticide and hormone residues, which highly aligns with the core demands of modern consumers for healthy, clean and low-burden diets.
As China's first enterprise to realize the kiloton-scale industrialization of filamentous fungal protein, and simultaneously complete the application for new food raw material qualification and obtain production licenses, the Company currently boasts an annual production capacity of 1,200 tons of Weiran Protein, capable of promptly meeting initial market demand and generating sales revenue. Meanwhile, the Company is fully advancing the construction of projects with an annual output of 20,000 tons of Weiran Protein and 50,000 tons of amino acid water-soluble fertilizer. It strives to commence production at an early date to fundamentally break through capacity bottlenecks and consolidate its leading position in the industry.
Compared with start-up synthetic biology enterprises, API companies enjoy inherent advantages in layouting the synthetic biology field: sufficient production capacity, high availability of existing factory buildings for reuse, and a large customer base to support downstream business extension. Most API companies are established with B2B business as their core, whose sales teams can expand coverage to other downstream clients to form seamless business connection. They carry out joint innovation with downstream enterprises to develop diversified end products, build an industrial ecological alliance to integrate industrial resources, and cooperate with partners to promote market education, standard formulation and product incubation, so as to accelerate public awareness and market acceptance of new products.
