Hydrocortisone acetate is a clinically common synthetic glucocorticoid with anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic and immunosuppressive effects. It is widely used for the treatment of adrenal insufficiency, autoimmune diseases, allergic disorders and other conditions. While this medication delivers definite therapeutic effects, long-term or regular oral intake may exert multi-system impacts on the human body and trigger adverse reactions of varying severity. The severity of side-effects is closely correlated with dosage, treatment duration and individual physical conditions. Short-term low-dose administration usually causes mild adverse reactions, whereas long-term high-dose treatment carries significantly elevated risks. 1. Gastrointestinal Side-Effects
