Urinary Tract Infections: Including cystitis and pyelonephritis due to susceptible organisms.

Skin and Soft Tissue Infections: For example, cellulitis, impetigo, and wound infections caused by sensitive bacteria.

Other Infections: Such as gonorrhea (in combination with other drugs in some cases), and infections of the gastrointestinal tract caused by Helicobacter pylori (used in combination therapies).

[Dosage and Administration]

Adults:

For most infections, the usual oral dose is 250 - 500 mg every 8 hours. In more severe infections, the dose may be increased to 500 mg - 1 g every 8 hours.

For the treatment of Helicobacter pylori infection in combination therapy, the dosage and regimen may vary according to the specific treatment protocol.

Children:

The dosage is calculated based on body weight, usually 20 - 40 mg/kg per day, divided into 3 doses. For more severe infections, the dose may be increased to 40 - 80 mg/kg per day, divided into 3 doses.

[Adverse Reactions]

Gastrointestinal Reactions: Common adverse reactions include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal discomfort. These symptoms are usually mild and transient.

Allergic Reactions: Ranging from mild rashes, itching, and hives to severe allergic reactions such as anaphylaxis. Anaphylaxis is a life-threatening reaction that requires immediate medical attention.

Other Reactions: Less commonly, it may cause oral thrush, superinfection (such as Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea), and reversible liver function abnormalities in some patients.
